New Business: A digital Picture Frame For the Lodge

I have been thinking that a 15" digital picture frame for about $400 would be good for the lodge. I was going to propose this idea under new business. In researching the costs I hit a major jack pot.

"The world's largest digital picture frame, the 32" SP3200." http://www.smartpartsproducts.com/content/nhome/sp3200.php

Guess how much! Well you can scan ahead... $750!! http://www.provantage.com/smartparts-sp3200~7SMPA001.htm

And it comes with its own wall mount included. (That is another $50 generally.)

What would we do with this? Put it just inside the lodge room or someplace where many people can stand easily to look at it. Before each lodge meeting (of any kind) we prepare a couple of slides: maybe some pictures, snaps from the web site, and the meeting agenda, reminders about old business, some suggestions for new business, as well as any announcements about up coming events. We load them up to the this thing, turn it on and let it run a slow slide show. We tether the remote control to it and let anyone stop the show to hold the image on a particular item. It has pretty easy to use remote.

When the lodge meeting starts we turn it off (saving power). After the lodge meeting we could put up a different slide show, or turn it back on to the original slides.

I like the digital picture frames since they can take almost any memory stick, preparation of the slide decks will be easy enough that at least one officer could do it and it doesn't require a computer hooked up to it to run the thing.

Fraternally,
